Children of Bethlehem

December 20, 2012 - People have been asking, and yes I plan to try to get my Christmas play in form for publication and sale.  Check back with me from time to time and if you have an interest in learning about or performing the play in the interim, by all means contact me.

"Children of Bethlehem" is a fun but faithful original Christmas play, set to traditional seasonal hymns, that tells the Christmas story through the eyes of children who observe the events leading up to and culminating in the nativity of Jesus Christ.  The play is cast with five to seven lead characters such as a child of the shepherds or a child of servants in Herod’s palace, and accomodates additional young people who can’t manage or don’t want speaking parts as members of a chorus that remains on stage thoughout the performance, responding as a group to the principal characters and singing the hymns.  There's even a humorously spooky appearence by Marley's Ghost and a party at Herod's Palace complete with mirror ball!  The play can be performed in 45-50 minutes and is written in engaging, modern language that is nonetheless true to the Gospel.

Another Children's Book?

March 15, 2013 - “Can You Lick Your Tongue”, another upcoming work, is a whimsical children’s picture book that helps young ones aged 0-5 years explore the senses in an evocative way. It’s currently in the hands of my talented illlustrator, but I expect to launch it 2014. Stay tuned, it’s a crack-up.  In the meantime, see if you can lick YOUR tongue!

Sun Healthcare Group Loves Remington

June 25, 2013 - Back in the Fall of 2012, I was commissioned to write a poem for retiring executives of a sizeable elder care coglomerate.  This interesting challenge lead to "Hallways", a poem that will be in my upcoming book "The Soul's Sidewalk." The poem was then presented live and preserved in physical form in a porfolio for special attendees, who also received copies of my book "Whispers of the Heart."  Here's what one Sun Healthcare executive had to say:

Sun Healthcare Group was fortunate to have had Clay Remington create this gentle, insightful poem

that eloquently depicted why people choose a profession supporting our treasured elders. The

piece resonated with everyone from direct caregivers to executives and reminded all of us who have chosen to work in this field why we do it.    -Cindy Crispell, Sun Healthcare Group
